Amistad Británico-Mexicana (conocida también como Amistad) es una Institución de Asistencia Privada fundada por un grupo de residentes británicos y  por mexicanos a dos días del terremoto que sacudió la Ciudad de México en septiembre de 1985, con la finalidad de apoyar al sector de educación y al sector salud en la etapa de reconstrucción.

Durante sus casi 30 años de vida Amistad ha contado con el apoyo de personas de diversas esferas de la sociedad y distintas nacionalidades, todas ellas comprometidas con los sectores más necesitados en México.

British Ambassador to Mexico Duncan Taylor hosted the annual general meeting of Amistad Británico-Mexicana last month, an event which also served to mark the start of the nonprofit organization’s 30th year helping support Mexico following natural disasters.

During the meeting, Amistad Británico-Mexicana president Colin Stabler pointed out that 2014 had been a very important year for the organization because of the number of severe natural disasters Mexico suffered during that period.

La fundación fue creada por residentes británicos en México dos días después del terremoto de 1985.

Por segundo año consecutivo, Duncan Taylor, embajador de Gran Bretaña en México, encabezó la asamblea anual de la Fundación Amistad Británico-Mexicana en calidad de presidente honorario.

Armando Nuricumbo, tesorero de dicha asociación, presentó un informe de las finanzas de la Fundación Amistad Británico-Mexicana en el cual destacó una disminución en los donativos recibidos por la institución con respecto al año 2013.

Annual Report For 2014

This past year, 2014, was a very busy and important year for Amistad.

Why? Because Amistad responded to the biggest natural disaster to affect Mexico since the Mexico City earthquake in 1985, when Amistad started.

We completed our aid to a community hit by the disastrous flooding caused by Tropical Storm Manuel in Acapulco in September of 2013. Through contact with “Unidos por Ellos” and Anahuac University we got in touch with Altius, an NGO that supports a community on the outskirts of Acapulco that had been flooded.
